When a client enters replication mode, by issuing a MODE REPL command to the xPLHal server, it will periodically receive replication data from the master.

  • The replication data will arrive in the form of a 600 response from the server.
  • The line following this response will contain the filename of the replicated data.
  • The next line will contain the exact size (in bytes) of the data.
  • The data will then be sent in it's entirety.

As the replication client knows the size of data to expect, no method of indicating the end of the data stream is required.
